Can You Rest?

Hebrewa 1-4

Hebrews 1:4. If you could be an angel for a day, what would you like to do?
Hebrews 2:1. What do we need to pay more careful attention to?
Hebrews 3:4. "...the builder of the house has greater honor than the house itself." Who remembers anything about the person(s) who built your house?
Hebrews 4: Rest.
Good idea.

  1. The passage on honoring the builder of the house is interesting. You can take it literally or metaphorically. Literally...I feel there is not as much pride going into home building today. In all the mass building going on and cutting of corners (ever watch Holmes on Homes?) for cost sakes, the quality of homes has decreased over the years.

Taking it metaphorically, the person who builds/creates something should be what is honored instead of the item itself.

  2. It depends on the builder. And - on the buyer. Sometimes buyers are not doing their due dilligence. They are looking for a "good deal" and the best "deal" is not necessarily good. The company our son works for builds trusses for multi-family dwellings, and their quality control is outstanding. It might cost more to work with his company, but the quality is worthwhile. Sadly, a signature on a truss is probably not that valuable to a your normal homebuyer.
